Oppo R15, R15 Dream Mirror Edition Start Receiving ColorOS 5.2.1 Update With Hyper Boost and More

Oppo and Its Own once sub-brand Realme seem to be on a software update spree off late.
Only yesterday, we reported that mobiles like the Realme 2 and Realme C1 are now receiving the ColorOS 5.2 stable upgrade and now, and today, the Oppo R15 and Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition phones are also being updated to ColorOS 5.2.1 at China. The upgrade is said to bring a range of new features like AI Assistant, Hyper Boost, a new video editing tool plus more. Oppo established the R15 show in Chinaback in March this year for a starting cost of CNY 2,999 (approximately Rs. 30,800) however, the phones never made it into India.
The news about the upgrade comes via Chinese microblogging site Weibo, as reported by Gizmochina. According to the article, the upgrade should be rolling out over-the-air but if you’re the impatient type, you then certainly can manually download the upgrade and flash it. One of the list of the attributes, the new updates said to bring an AI Assistant, which is summoned by holding the power button for 0.5s. The Assistant can also be used to scan documents, interpret images, scan documents, etc..

System updates include Hyper Boost, which claims to improve gaming performance; Smart Sidebar lets you access app shortcuts with a swipe gestures; Rapid Freeze suspends idle apps to decrease energy draw; a new video editing software for incorporating effects and themes; along with an SOS emergency feature that automatically sends a distress message using five sequential taps of the power button.
