The business claims that the move was essential as sticking to the original date would’ve meant the OnePlus 6T launch could be”overshadowed by Apple”, which will be hosting an event in New York on exactly the same day.But this week on Thursday, Apple sent invites to its own event in Brooklyn, New York on precisely the same day, where the company is expected to announce new iPad and Mac models.
“When we announced the initiation of the OnePlus 6T on October 8we were convinced our timing will allow us to increase the amount of people we can reach with our message.
The OnePlus 6T launch event will now kick off at 11am on October 29.
Here is the Complete text of Pete Lau’s post announcing the OnePlus 6T launch date change:
Lots has changed in the past 24 hours. After we announced the launch of the OnePlus 6T on October 8, we were convinced that our time would allow us to increase the amount of people we could reach with our opinion. This changed when Apple announced they would be hosting their own event on October 30. Thus, imagine how we felt when we learned that the date of their latest event. 1 minute, we were preparing for our finest and most exciting launch event yet. The next, we were introduced with a difficult question:”What do we do now?”
In any pursuit, you may just play the cards you’re dealt. We had been dealt a pretty terrible hand. Our challenge was to find a means to make the most of a bad situation. For months on end, hundreds of individuals have poured their hearts and souls into creating our very best product so far. Our purpose is to make sure it will get the time and attention it warrants.
We couldn’t make this decision independently. For hours, we talked to our media contacts to gain insight into the way that Apple’s announcement could affect the launch of the OnePlus 6T. We obtained believed, honest and thoughtful feedback. They showed us that if we chose to stick to our original timeline, launching the OnePlus 6T on October 30, we’d be penalized by Apple.
But, we know the most important voices are yours — our neighborhood. We talked to a few of the very loyal customers, knowing we couldn’t make a decision of this magnitude with no input. Because we know you’d be affected by this shift. Flight tickets are reserved, hotel rooms reserved, and plans created. Internally, we had been incredibly divided with this choice. We debated for hours before we arrived to one of the very painful decisions we’ve ever made.
As enthusiastic and ambitious as all of us are, we must acknowledge the fact of the circumstance. There are no winners . Over the course of nearly five years, we have been proud to witness the growth of one of their most passionate and strong communities in all of tech. However, we have to remain realistic. We’ve only begun our journey and cannot afford to let one of the most important products in our background be affected by another great product launch. So after deep reflection, we’ve opted to move the OnePlus 6T Launch Event in New York City into October 29.
We’re moving case each day early so that we could all experience the latest technologies, together. To all those affected, we all know sorry isn’t good enough. Thus, we’ll do everything in our power to make things right. Beginning with those of you that own a ticket, but won’t have the ability to make the event. Everybody who owns a ticket will be able to apply for a full refund for their ticket.
If you are still able to join our event, first of allThank you! We’ll cover any costs you may incur to modify your plans. If you have to cover to move your flight, we have your back. Same is true for those who reserved a hotel or made other arrangements.
We expect you will understand our decision. If you’re prepared to help spread the word and make this our largest event yet, we’d be incredibly very thankful if you could share the information with other OnePlus followers. As we continue to grow, we will continue to challenge this industry collectively. It’s going be a huge week in New York. However, we’re all set to Unlock The Speed — hand-in-hand with you. Thank you for supporting us! See you October 29, at 11AM EDT.
