Lenovo ThinkPad, Yoga Headphones Launched; Portable USB Type-C Monitor Unveiled at MWC 2019

Along with refreshing several of its ThinkPad and IdeaPad Notebooks at MWC 2019, Lenovo has unveiled two new pairs of headphones designed to match its ThinkPad and Yoga devices, and a Mobile USB Type-C companion Screen for Notebooks.

The business hasn’t yet discussed plans or timelines for launches in different regions.

The two pairs of headphones have the same features including active noise cancellation, but are styled differently, to match with their namesake product lines. The ThinkPad X1 ANC is dark gray and was created in partnership with Dolby and Synaptics to listen to the sound and generate a six-mic range with no protruding arm. Using a hybrid of busy noise cancelation (ANC) and digital noise cancelation (ENC), the ThinkPad X1 ANC is meant to let users collaborate through video and voice conferencing platforms and readily interact with voice assistants in their devices.

The Yoga ANC headset includes a white finish but features the identical aluminum caps onto its own earpieces as the ThinkPad X1 ANC. Both pairs of headphones support Bluetooth 5 and may also be used and charged using a USB Type-C cable. Both are also collapsible for simple storage. Lenovo hasn’t published detailed specifications about the sound features and battery lifetime of these two cans, but appears to be targeting them more for calls than for audio.

The ThinkVision M14 portable monitor is supposed to improve productivity by providing laptop users screen space to work with. The system uses a single USB Type-C cable to attach to any PC or notebook and doesn’t require an external power supply. There are USB Type-C interfaces on both sides of the apparatus, to make positioning easier. Additionally, it supports pass-through capacity to charge a notebook if plugged into a wall socket.

The screen measures 14 inches diagonally and has a full-HD resolution. A height-adjustable pliers must be enough to help raise the screen to match a notebook placed alongside it. The maximum brightness is 300nits. Lenovo has made it to be portable, so it weighs 595g and can be 4.6mm thick, so that it can slide into a bag along with a laptop.
