Ahead of the launch, the company has now confirmed a few camera details about the upcoming mobiles. While Wong confirmed that the P30 will game a periscope zoom lens, he did not just go into the specifics of their zooming capabilities. It’s rumoured that the P30 series will support lossless zoom, also Huawei has been teasing it as well previously. But, Wong only points towards a recent sample photo that was posted online. The photo of the moon shot by CEO Richard Yu and its own detail suggests at amplified zooming capabilities. Wong only says the photo was taken on-device, handheld, without any extra assistance.
Wong also promises that the P30 Pro’s camera could offer”something no one (has completed ) before.” This hints at mechanical zoom lens integration, but it’s all speculation now.
A video teaser has also surfaced of the forthcoming Huawei P30 series along with the moon photo sample makes an appearance in the video, teasing the upgraded zooming capabilities. Separately, tipster Roland Quandt has leaked that the Huawei P30 will arrive in 6GB RAM + 128GB storage bundle, while the Huawei P30 Pro comes from 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 256GB storage, and 8GB RAM + 512GB storage packs. In addition, he says that the configuration will depend on the country it is established, and even colour options, and also that more RAM + storage options may be introduced as the launch remains far away.
Design wise, leaked renders imply the phones will sport a dewdrop-shaped notch in the front. The Huawei P30 will sport a triple rear camera setup in the trunk, whereas the P30 Pro will sport a quad camera set at the back. The detectors will be aligned vertically followed by a dual-LED flash module. The volume and power buttons are put on the right border, along with the fingerprint sensor is embedded underneath the display.
Previous rumours suggest that the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro smartphones will sport OLED screens with a waterdrop-style top notch and optical in-display fingerprint detectors. The phones will also reportedly be powered by HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC. The Huawei P30 is said to be coming with a 6.1-inch OLED panel with 8GB of RAM, whereas the Huawei P30 Pro will feature a larger 6.5-inch screen with 12GB of RAM. The Huawei P30 is thought to possess a max of 40-megapixel and service for 5x lossless zoom. In the front, it is expected to have a 24-megapixel selfie camera.
