'Dr. Mario World' Mobile Game Announced by Nintendo, Line

Japan’s Nintendo said on Friday it was developing a mobile title with Line in the company’s Most Up-to-date push into mobile Gambling.

“Dr. Mario World”, its latest cellular title comprising popular Nintendo personalities, will be published from mid-2019, the Kyoto-based company said in a statement.

Nintendo should find new sources of revenue to cancel its aging 3DS handheld device, but despite releasing cellular titles with DeNA Co and CyberAgent it’s yet to score a big hit.

The business is going to undershoot its target of discharging two to 3 cellular titles in the fiscal year ending March after saying on Thursday that title Mario Kart Tour needed more labour and pushing the release date back into mid-2019.

It is targeted for release this summer.

“Under this cooperation, we plan to release Dr. Mario World in early summer 2019 for the worldwide marketplace, such as Japan and the United States,” said Nintendo President Shuntaro Furakawa in a prepared statement.

“We shall continue actively considering partnership opportunities with other companies if we encounter great proposals. In the mobile business, we aim to create contact points between Nintendo IP and customers all over the globe through multiple software and to realize our overall company goals like business scale expansion.”

This comes a day after the company delayed Mario Kart Tour to get Android and iOS. The reason for the delay of the game, as Nintendo puts it, is to improve upon its own quality.

“At the smart-device business, Mario Kart Tour was scheduled to be released this fiscal year, but in order to improve quality of the program and expand the material offerings after launching, the launch date was moved to summer 2019,” read Nintendo’s latest financial report.

“As we all endeavour to come up with future planned applications, we will also concentrate on continued service operations for applications which have already been released so that consumers can enjoy playing them for quite a while.”
