Delhi Government Launches 'One Delhi' App, Helps Users Plan Journeys on Metro and Buses

To ease the use of public transport in the nation capital, the Delhi government on Tuesday launched a Frequent mobility app’One Delhi’ to allow users Program more efficiently their Travel with Delhi Metro and all city buses.

The program was developed by Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System, or DIMTS.

“To make travel simpler in Delhi, the program lets users access all bus stops, bus and metro routes, fares, expected time of arrival (ETA) of metro and buses,” the government said in a statement.

Launch the program, Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot said:”The Delhi government was carrying several initiatives to improve access, reliability and security of Delhi’s buses. Our vision is to make public transport the favored mode of transport in Delhi.

“The government is in the process of strengthening the fleet of buses by adding 3,000 new buses. We launched’Connect Delhi’ project recently to get the objective of linking all cities and colonies of Delhi with a reliable bus service within 500-metre walking distance,” he explained.

Later, in a tweet, he explained:”After the launching of Common Mobility Card One Card, I’m pleased to start now Delhi’s first common mobility program – One Delhi Program. This is a 1 stop shop for all your public transportation needs — bus/metro paths, bus stops, real-time arrival information, journey planning etc..”

Dialogue and Development Commission Vice-Chairman Jasmine Shah said the government has plans to add new features to the app, like recharge of a single Card and integrated multi-modal travel planning across metro and buses.

This program is currently available for Android users through Google Play, and will be developed for Apple phone users shortly, he said.
